I hope this post finds you well and that you're having a wonderful Fall. I had my first live TV appearance yesterday, discussing self-hypnosis and how it can help you stay healthy and happy. I've included an article for you on 5 Tips on Self-Hypnosis for Health and Wellness and the TV clip.
Channel 6 Interview: The Secrets of Self-Hypnosis
5 Tips on Self-Hypnosis for Health and Wellness:Self-hypnosis is an ability we all have to some extent. It simply involves reaching a relaxed, focused state of mind, where your mind more easily accepts suggestions and imagery of healthier behaviors and attitudes.
Find a preferred method for reaching a state of relaxation. For some, it helps to use a visual cue, such as focusing on the flame of a candle. For others, it may involve counting backwards from 100, or listening to calming music, or doing some form of meditation.
It often helps to record a pre-designed relaxation script or have a hypnotherapist design a personalized one for you. For an example script, see my website at: http://www.drcoxconsulting.com/free-guided-meditation.html.
When in this relaxed state, feel yourself reaching your goal: whether it involves being fit and trim, more confident, or happier. Whatever your goal, imagine having it now. Use all your senses in the session: visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
It’s best to do your self-hypnosis session when you are in a very good mood. For example, schedule your session after you’ve watched a funny movie. By doing this, you help your subconscious mind to associate ‘feeling good’ with the new habit you are instilling.
